re: Ann: Salamander Temperature Increases To ... Yes, over 1km of slotted liner seems an awful lot. (Or maybe not - how does this relate say to the oil & gas industry?) I have quoted/paraphrased GDY in saying that 'temperature is king' but I would also suggest that perhaps flow rate is queen. I imagine the 1km+ slotted liner section allows them to maximise the flow rate and at the same time get access to as much of the reservoir as possible, but then again this is possibly me stating the bleeding obvious. I do agree JI, there is most likely to be a sweet spot.

Given there is so much slotted liner, can someone with the right background tell me how they are meant to keep the "crud" out of the wells, for want of a better term?

P.S. Mods - I am not talking about our Prime Minister here. :-)
