Why would you require any of that processing, or talk of DSO, if the clay was ionic and just needed simple tank/heap leaching with ammonium sulphate in the hot WA sun? To me, if they are even considering the shipment of ore and investing in a whole heap of plant for beneficiation and not just leaching it on site, its a pretty big tell it's not a simple extraction like true IAC.
