It could be a good thing, the buyer (Bekaert) already has a strong global footprint in this business.
they may be in a better position to grow the wire rope business than arrium would

Given that the feed for this ropes plant is the arrium wire mill across the road, any growth for the new owner would also benefit arrium. (assuming they continue to buy the wire from across the road).

the market doesn't seem overly impressed, but they have raised some cash and hopefully have a continuing market for the wire they produce. With some upside if the new owner grows the business.
