I get that is your opinion, but why? Because, their opinion might affect the price of stocks that you own?
I guess my view is a bit different to most people's. I don't view high prices for stocks as a good thing - that just creates risk for everyone. Most people are a net buyer of stocks, and avoiding over pricing stocks is a good for them. Most don't agree because they're looking for a really big win rather than good performance over time.
Shorters can bring a bit of sanity into the market. If nothing else, it tells us that not everyone agrees with our opinion if we are long in the stock. That can also sometimes lead to healthy questions.
