The rare exception at the moment is 88E, but they too were JV'd, just no one else is interested in their water well now.

It's pretty standard for 50-75% for a free carried drill, which is what Western Gas were looking for, nothing ridiculous about their asking price. Not many interested in offshore Gas in WA though, with the Perth Basin currently looked at as a much cheaper to explore and extract play.

You should probably read the comments again. Your response didn't seem to address concern raised. Point a bit twisted. Nowhere did I suggest WG go solo. Also, all the examples you mentioned stumped up some cash for a percentage of drill cost......not 100% free carried.
Except your definition of free carried is different.....WG is not after 50-75% free carried drill but 100%. No contribution for drill cost.
What am I missing?
