Amazon uses cameras and user specific accounts, SBW does not.. Amazon also users profile data from the users google account.....SBW just uses EFTPOS details like any other standard store and a LIDAR system for store tracking.

I read an article somewhere a while ago (cant recall where) that basically said the Amazon experience is as much about data collection as it is sales. Why is this an issue you ask - well, every purchase you make, every visit to a store, every item, your times of movement, your 'profile' is marketable data for Amazon.

I agree with all of this however am not certain it will make a difference in the long run. I am a comfortable holder here however understand that we will have fierce competition, despite having a superior product. Rightly or wrongly, most people just do not give a toss about their data privacy. A real shame.
