This is a fascinating (and perhaps undersold) partnership. The existing solutions wouldn't be sending much data to the cloud - i.e. no visual detection of fruit and vegetables. If they were the costs would be orders of magnitude higher than $7.2m per 1000 stores.

Without AI on edge devices it would not be possible to detect fruit and vegetables - and without this ability the huge losses per store will continue.

I look forward to hearing more about this partnership....
