I believe Pt. Pirie only contains 30 tonnes of Sc and given the contaminates it wouldn't be worth doing. My research indicates Scandium is relatively wide spread but generally in low grades. I have an interest in a Au-U- REO deposit containing +300ppm Sc. The scandium is not mixed with the Uranium part. The deposit size of Sc is as yet unknown. We expect to know more once we work the deposit this year in the NT. Like all minerals I expect Scandium will be found all over the world in mineable quantities once there is a strong market. Low tonnage of Lithium bearing Amblygonite (7% Li) was sold to Europe in the early 1900's from the Bynoe Harbour area , but as we know that market is only maturing now.
