Good ASX announcement and great to see more growth for EPP coming. Hopefully EMA moves to 6 annual implants soon from current 3 or 4 and Canada also comes on board this year. It was also great last year when they mentioned how EPP subjects from the potential competitors were coming to Clinuvel to access treatment - 95% patient retention in this disease speaks volumes. If any other biotech said how they were succeeding over the competition it would be massive news while at CUV it just prompted more shorting? Most shorted Biotech on the ASX despite a blockbuster phase 3 and potential viral cosmetic tanning products while already having the very best financial performance of any small biotech is very strange.
And once again we are met with a Clinuvel paradox with todays nice little announcement to the ASX while they have not made an ASX announcement despite putting a bulletin on their website which made an amazing announcement of a scientific breakthrough and the first time I have explicitly heard them reference this real tanning and protective product with a release date. An ASX announcement is required. To me it is not so much about the share price as it is about what is actually a real scientific breakthrough. "Clinuvel's scientific experts have cleaved our melanocortin peptide technology, shortening the chain of amino acids to create molecules small enough to permeate the skin's barrier." This is unique and amazing technology allowing a real, protective tan that will disrupt a multi hundreds of billions dollars industry. We have invested in these scientists for a long time as shareholders and it deserves to be announced to everyone the significance of this research. Putting it on the website is not relevant in this context like a crappy newsletter with nothing in it. It is really market sensitive news on a topic they have never confirmed to this extent despite many questions over the years. It is out of the bottle now so publish it to the ASX which also aligns with the aim of increased visibility.
