I think it would be more choose the product that suits your requirements. I.e if you have a complex high end requirement you wait and go for the new version as that may have the features you need.
if you have a simpler application or if it's more important to be first to market this first release may suit your needs.
obviously there would be a cost difference between the two as well so you're decision would take that in as well.
