DEG didn't even start off as a gold explorer. during the GFC Deg were pissing around with iron ore and all other sorts of whack stuff.
They pivoted to gold after the GFC bull run and acquired some gold prospects. For several years they didn't find anything that substantial just a bundle of smaller OP/UG projects although in aggregate they had a global resource of around 2moz.
They got hell lucky late 2019 when they pumped around 200-250 ac holes targeting the hemi anomaly. The cover was thick, basically every single hole returned ABSOLUTELY NOTHING except 2 holes that clipped the top of the hemi intrusion.
They basically gambled their $$ on the AC campaign, and if those 2 holes didn't hit, they probably would have abandoned hemi lol.
talk about luck!.
The EOH finished with something decent high grade hits, but the market was very very slow to react, basically they received a muted response. Wasn't till around feb 2020 the the market woke up.
rest in history.
Apart from SPR / Never Never it has been a very long while since we've seen anything substantial discovered by ASX explorer. It ain't that easy.
