Maybe another option may come out of left field. It appears that Gina maybe planning a spur line to Mulga Downs about 70km from PIOP. Could that spur be further extended to PIOP. A long shot perhaps.

Port Hedland- Mineral Resources/Hancock Prospecting (HanRoy): Stanley Point, Berth 3.In early 2022 the WA Government allocated the proposed Port Hedland Stanley Point Berth 3 to Mineral Resources and Hancock Prospecting (Gina) who will develop the 50mtpa berth in a joint venture.As part of the deal, Hancock will provide the rail haulage and port services for Mineral Resources to export 20mtpa through the berth with Hancock also exporting 20mtpa.The allocation of Stanley Point 3 will also be available to small third party iron ore projects, presumably with Hancock providing rail haulage and port services.Gina's Roy Hill was also allocated another 25mtpa at other Port Hedland berths, with FMG getting 52mtpa extra and BHP 82mtpa.Hancock is planning to commence development of the 20mtpa Mulga Downs deposit by mid-2023 with a new rail (spur line) to transport the ore to Port Hedland. Mulga Downs is expecting to be exporting ore by late 2025.Mulga Downs is about 60km to 70km East of Flinders PIOP.
