TZMI produced those forecasts when the zircon price was quite low, recovering from the sharp selldown of 2020.
The sale price of zircon concentrate is determined by the amount of zircon contained in the concentrate multiplied by the current zircon price and discounted for processing costs and a profit margin.
Therefore the sale price, and any estimates produced in the past are all based on the zircon price used at the time.
The TZMI long term forecast is around $1600-$1700 and the contract prices are about $1950. Hence the current concentrate price for will be higher than estimates stemming from a long term forecast.
