I have 2 projects which involve local Indigenous people. Both went ahead and proven beneficial to local community and the local environment.
They are PMT which has employed 99 Inuit Indians and constructed the workers camp. Cree seem happy to work and develop the mine Electricity will cost 10cents in Montreal from renewable energy made from melting snow. I pay 41 cents AUS for my electricity in AUS. This project will go ahead and succeed.
WDS has started production at Sangomar deep 100 km off Senegal. 4,400 Senegalese have been employed in developing this project and spent $177m spent with local suppliers.
Having traveled this region in the 70's I have sponsored 5 children over 32 years in West Africa to supply Primary level education to teach Reading and writing to the poorer peoples. WDS HAVE DONE MORE FOR THIS COUNTRY JUST BY JOINT VENTURES. Than i have done
Aborigines should try working. They might get a job on the Gold mine!
