At the EGM, a few of us had the opportunity for a long chat with Marc Voigt. On of the topics discussed was forthcoming conferences and the opportunities they present. Apparently, much of the important stuff takes place on the sidelines and in one-on-one conversations. You never know which pharma may be currently looking to supplement it's own current pipeline with a new product. Many partnering and M and A deals start with discussions at conferences, so you just have to be there, networking.
