The ‘spread’ on almond pricing is much more than $5.50-$6.00 as there are many different varieties, quality and size. This would just be the average pricing. Hard to know if SHV achieved a good price at $6.60 (low quality Carmel) or a poor price (good quality Nonpareil). Other tree nut prices are rising, causing food manufacturers to move more towards almonds, further depleting the US backlog. The continuing US drought is going to bite harder this year as groundwater reserves have been severely depleted. SHV upside looks good.
