Last years harvest was 10,500 tonnes, at a price of $8.40 a kilo.
Based on the presentation yesterday, the 2015 harvest will be 13,400 tonnes at $11/kilo.
So this years crop is worth 65% more than that of last year.
The company is sticking with the 13,400 t forecast, though in my opinion it will probably be a little higher... maybe around 14,000 t. But if the size of the crop proves to be larger than expected, they wouldn't be announcing this until they had processed the vast majority of the crop, which wouldn't be until June at the earliest.
It is also interesting to see Webster, which in many regards is a 'twin stock' to Select, is hitting new highs. The Webster shareprice, now at $1.85, looks set to exceed the previous ten year high of $1.94 back in 2007.
