Senex's oil-hedging program and its longer-dated domestic gas sales agreements limit the Aussie energy company's near-term exposure to the recent fall in oil prices, Bell Potter says. Around 95% of Senex's Surat Basin gas sales are contracted this calendar year, while effectively all of the company's FY 2020 production is hedged at higher-than-spot prices. "With the complete ramp-up of Atlas, it's expected that more than half of Senex's sales volumes will be under longer-dated fixed price gas sales agreements," Bell Potter says. Atlas is Senex's natural-gas project in Queensland state that will supply major manufacturers including CSR and Orora.
