Excellent. A promotion from within ensures a person whose mannerisms and capabilities are well known. Also means a person who doesn't need to change everything to prove themself.
There should be more reward for company loyalty instead of the CEO merry go round that sees people in a role for less time than it takes to work out if they are a dud or not.
