The irony is that they annouced the intention to initiate a buyback when they released their HY results and since then then the company has lost 1/4 of its value. Not really what buyback annoucements are meant to achieve.
However, when you annouce a buyback that you may not be permitted to do, it's exactly the reaction you can expect from the market.
Long story short, no one will buy when there's uncertainty about whether the company can move funds to Australia, regardless of the business performance.
