I am sorry, but I think if you look it up you will see it is based on gold ounces sold. It may not seem to make sense until you consider things like gold in circuit and financial metrics like inventory. Since AISC is designed to be a financial comparison it should measure directly against the income and other monthly cash expenses. It usually only makes a difference for very small producers where a delay selling at the end of the month can significantly affect AISC.
