I tried on this forum and PAF to explain to people that accepting WAM shares wasn't a good idea. Personally I wont purchase LIC's at a premium to NTA they are just too expensive. WAM was trading around $2.18 and NTA was around $1.90 if memory is correct. I wanted more PGF. However in the end I sold to WAM and took the knock on CGT and moved on.
The fan club here could not answer why many hybrid LIC's like SOL, IFT , BKW and SFC outperformed WAM. They kept trying to say its all the deals that are done. Over 1 year WAM is down 27% and PGF down 7% This was a bad move for PAF holders as you pointed out.
