In this market, I expect PPS shareholders would pressure the Board to entertain a bid up 50% IMO. This would likely bring other buyers out. If no other buyers then the Board should deal at the bid price.
On NWL's current share price, NWL could bid up 50% for PPS and it would be EPS accretive assuming no synergies ... but as a platform the synergies should be significant.
If NWL waits and the market deflates (which seems to be happening) then they'll lose a real opportunity to use the premium in their paper.
