It would appear that earnings bottomed in 2H24 by the look of these figures. Cash earnings up about 5% in 1Q25 v. 2H24 results.
They still lead the chasing pack in terms of the other 3 major banks who recently reported, and that looks to be reinforced now that CBA is winning more than their existing market share in terms of writing new home loans. With rate cuts on the horizon - that could well turn out to be good timing!
