u post figures from 5 years ago saying H2 is $18.70/kg.
Read the paper instead of making stupid comments. $18/kg is the CSIRO predicted 2030 price. Even their lowest estimates for 2030 are $8/Kg.
It takes 90Kg of H2 to make one tonne of sponge iron. That is ~$700-1700/tonne just for the hydrogen alone without any other costs.
It takes 550Kg of coal to make one tonne of steel. That is <$130 even at today's inflated prices. In normal times it is closer to $60.
If we could make hydrogen for $1.87, would you support green iron?
ROTFL. You can't so it is a totally pointless argument.
