There will be unintended consequences of this RC, of course. Folks have probably already noticed them, public opinion of it will shift (or is shifting), there was a good article in AFR just earlier today. Would you rather be paying a lower mortgage rate or have some dodgy elements dealt with in this manner? Elections will be lost / won, and as black and white industry consolidation will follow.
It looks to me an operator is at play on this one currently. They don't think it's worth 32 but are willing to scoop it at 22-25. So obvious on a stock with this liquidity.
Public statements by the BoD / management would be sensitive atm, so one could probably understand their absence. But don't discard a random one!
