This is second hand info I know but I had a conversation with a customer and competitor of SSM about a year ago saying that SSM on these telco projects were nothing but project managers - the actual service delivery work is outsourced.
He said his company was finding ways of adding value and siphoning project work away from SSM slowly but surely. They had contracts with the major telcos and NBN.
Again - guy could have been talking out his a**e but worth mentioning.
