Genius has sunk a fair bit of capital in MFD, but is refusing a pay day. If they thought MFD was sh*t, they would have taken Busy Bee's money. Remember, MFD CEO is ex-CEO of Genius: Genius knows the inside story.
I think Genius is playing the long game, and care little about short term price fluctuations. IMO, the deferred maintenance that came to light last quarter likely precedes Genius' involvement, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was related to covering up the misappropriations of the past CEO.
I'm bullish the sector and if MFD can recover from this stumble, it is pretty cheap here. Is the franchise irreparably damaged by one awful quarter? I don't think so.
Both Genius and Busy Bees offered $1.35 earlier this year. That was pretty cheap by recent industry comparables, so before Genius put a wrench in it, a BB bump was, IMO, likely. Cut that offer by 20% to $1.08, which is pretty harsh/cheap, there is still 60% of upside from the price at the time of your post.
