Buying stuff doesn't unlock shareholder value, neither does paying dividends. Just because everyone else does it doesn't make it right. The average ASX company just doesn't create value.
Being in a position to invest when prices are low and competitors are leaving does. Being able to negotiate with suppliers from a position of strength does.
This company has an incredible opportunity long term, to me its most important they focus on that. I get that if they do a dividend the share price will go up temporarily, which will feel good for a day, but i would be more worried that they are in a worse position overall especially if the market continues to decline.
