There are a few key msgs that should ensure our local prawn industry, become a main global supplier well into the future imo. 1. Globally, prawns are best produced in a narrow band associated with the equator. 2. There is a broad range of prawn diseases found in farms to the north of Aus. 3. Many have lost the game, when it come to its disease control for 4. Disease management is poorly implemented or at the least hap hazard by other countries and/or their producers.
As an example of 3, did you ever wonder why imported prawns are smaller than our local product. Its not because that are greatly different in any way, its just they are harvested earlier. Why ?? More often its the farm(s) management action to harvest early before disease can take full hold, resulting in mass production loss. So stick with the Green Clean Aussie product i suggest.
