    re: yellowcake Hi yellowcake, I've just got back in the last couple of hours from a business trip up through the NSW / Vic border region and its very ugly.

    The lack of even early rains for preperation mean very little country is worked up, little less sown. It would a brave punter prepared to sow and the showers that have been around. A couple of large growers told me that they are accepting of the pattern that has now emerged of a gradual two week creep of season break into winter over the last decade but we are now approaching crunch point.

    Irrigation wise the rice industry has just stripped its best crop in nearly a decade so its an interesting counterpoint. Has nearly taken Ricegrowers recievals to a comfortable capacity and its been a while since that happened.

    Those irrigators with their residual water profile are all sown of course for their followon cereal crop.

    There is going to be bug/ger all canola around this season though.

    I'm certainly following the seasonal developments over West with some interest also and i completely agree with your market assessment.
