Vultures are circling this stock but it is still very much alive.

Aston’s large scale open pit (low cost) is not the same as high grade low tonnage deep underground mining (high cost) that are closing down due to low nickel price.

Investment capital is pouring into Canada Nickel and away from underground mining. This is a clear sign that Aston are on the right track.

Once markets realise this, as hard as it is to see now this nickel price decreases might turn out to be the best way for Aston to stand out from the crowd, each operation closure means less Nickel supply and demand continues to grow.

Do you really think that the entire world’s supply of Nickel will come from Indonesia / Chinese suppliers ?

Do you really think that after they force closure of their competitor nickel mines and gain market share that Indo / china will continue to suppress nickel price?

This comes down to basic global economics

Indo / China intent is flood the market with supply, knock out high cost operations (competition), gain market share and develop cartel / control same as OPEC and then hold world hostage for Nickel at a price that suits them.

CNC / Aston arbitrage is that with assistance of government support they can overcome capex hurdle and develop a long life supply outside of Indo / chinese control and remain profitable through bear markets.
