    Its the same process, just different variables. maybe more temp, maybe longer residence time. maybe different carrier oil or catalyst. in effect phase 1-3 was optimising these variables for weathered rock, thinking fresh rock would react the same way. so they will reoptimise towards the fresh cannelite
