Based on trading as of now (2:15pm AEST Wednesday) in the price setting window, the SPP issue price based on VWAP looks to be $2.85 per share. Issue price could still change due to further price movements in period up to 5:00 pm Thursday.
If market price falls below $2.85 before the end of Thursday, buying on market may be cheaper as the VWAP won't fall as much as share price. If market price increases, SPP application should work out cheaper.
