If:
1. You want a large amount of shares, so can't easily buy them on market without driving the SP >$0.50.
2. If you feel obliged (directors having previously said they would).
Since they announced the SPP already, they have to finish the process.
Everybody else should just buy on market if they want to offset the dilution of the placement. (Unless wanting to help the company's financial position, then buy in the SPP.)
