I notice that there are a few posters on here who always support the corporate view. They seem to be very supportive and not really questioning of the fact that the fund manager may have different motives to shareholders.
In fact I would suggest that posters or readers should in fact look up where else on HC these posters post. I think you always need to challenge the views expressed in any publication.
My distrust here was a reflection of the WAM takeover of PAF where the manager told the shareholders how much better off they would be by accepting the WAM offer as opposed to PGF and the premium to NTA soon disappeared and they were a lot worse off. I sold out so did very well but to assume that the circumstances as outlined by the manager would continue is something you should draw your own conclusion about.
