Then again thinking deeper. Perhaps the directors do not want the average shareholder to take up on the SPP. Perhaps it is all just a ploy to make available the shares to "mates" who will do a back door take over of the company to get ground access.
The directors are trained lawyers, so one should ask the question:
Who do they work for? and not
Who pays them?
