There are many explorers out there touting for money. Companies need to make it attractive for institutional investors. Luckily BAT are giving share holders the same attractive deal - They did not have to offer it to shareholders.
I have, today, just become a share holder. I currently hold shares in Stavely, and will not be selling them until the JORC is completed and the porphyry drilling is completed - My opinion is that there will be a productive mine at Thursday Gossen - Stavely also needed to raise funds and offered a share holders purchase plan and offers to institutional investors in about August this year - The offer was discounted to 60c after trading closer to 67c - the price dropped to the low 50's - Today the price is around 89c.
There is more gold and copper out there with this volcanic model of porphyry deposit - You need money to find it and BAT is lucky to be in the right area. I was also impressed with the way they are approaching farmers in the area. Below is a link
