As far as I can tell, the advantages of buying on-market now:- you can buy more than 30k worth- you are buying at a known price
vs
Advantages of buying through SPP:- money goes to the company, rather than market seller- more time to raise the purchase funds
I've given up trying to figure out whether buying on market now helps/hinders shorters.
