For those who were not holders on the record date of 10 Dec, yes it’s a better deal now. But the close of business on Mon 20th Jan (and really the closing price on Fri 17th if you’re doing a bank transfer to participate) will tell us how attractive or not this SPP offer really is. Holders on the record date effectively have a free ticket to ride if, for example, completed agreements or major deals are announced in the first fortnight of January that result in a significant share price boost here, at which point holders can each still elect to participate for up to ~5,128 shares at 5.85 (subject to scale back). All eyes on the 2nd/3rd week of Jan I guess.
