For all tardy and now a-little-worried Shareholders, from NAB below, same as other big banks. Basically, don't wait till 4.30 p.m.! Do it this morning and you "should" be fine (all depends on the individual banks lead times for sending, after you make the transaction online) but realistically, pay by 12p.m. you should be fine. Having said that, check with your own bank, i am making a bit of an assumption!

If you make a BPAY^® payment before 6:00pm (Melbourne time) on a business day, we’ll send the details to the biller’s bank on the same day. The biller is required (under BPAY^® rules) to treat your payment as being received on that same day.

Payments made after 6:00pm on business days, or at any time on a weekend or public holiday will usually be treated as being received by the biller on the next business day. The time that it takes for the biller’s account to actually be credited will depend on the policy and systems of the biller’s bank.
