That's what I do for SPP's. Years ago, when I was a bit illiquid, I'd often sell a good stock to raise the cash for an SPP only to have most of it refunded.
If a stock's good enough to buy, I just buy it. I'm not really interested in jumping through the SPP hoops to get a few cheaply.
