Free options seem a waste of time lately. They effectively reduce the cost base of the SPP shares, but then the market price of the shares just gravitates to that cost base.
ie
Buy 300 shares in the SPP at 9cps costs $27
Get 100 free options (1:3 options ) where current listed options trade at around 2cps, equates to $2 (100 x 2c)
Cost base of 300 SPP shares effectively reduced to $25, or 8.33cps.
