My reseach indicates that it is not where the broker is. The issue is needing a broker that will accept the DRS transfer. It appears CMC is the same as Commsec in that they do not accept DRS transfers. They have suggested a work around which also applies to those who wish to have their shares under Commsec International. First transfer to DRS Broker ie Tiger and then this will change the character of the transfer to the next Broker ie CMC, Commsec to a Broker to Broker transfer which will be accepted. It is a bit of a muck around and may incur further costs ( worth checking) but then you will access to shares in your preferred position. Hope this assists. Good luck!
