Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but 2,000 metric tonnes of coldry would be around 1800m3 in volume. So a stock pile very roughly in the order of 50m long x 20m wide x 3.6m high.
Starts to give you an idea what 2Mt looks like - by my calculations, it's about the same as the internal volume of the MCG (1.7M m3). Have a think about that the next time you go to the cricket or the footy. That means 20Mt is a tick over 10 MCGs. Big volumes.
