This is due to the fact that the survey cannot commence until mid october due to the whales.

"Timing of the Project is planned to avoid the southerly migration period in the Perth Basin for the humpback whale (refer to Section 6). In the event the Project commenced mid-October, initial mobilisation activities will take between 1-2 weeks and therefore seismic acquisition would commence towards the end of October."

When are the next lot Japanese scientific whaling ships due to come thru our waters.
I'm sure that they would have done some 3D seismic testing on whales in the past, that we could use in our report. Alternatively they could do what they do best, bypassing any requirement for Aust govt approvals.... Problem solved.
