When I read what you said it did not sound accurate, so I looked into it.
According to dictionary.com:

It also means "to go back in thought or discussion"
So let's not nitpick and take things out of context here, it simply means they are doing internal assessments and will get back to OBJ with their findings. I fail to see how you can misinterpret this as meaning anything otherwise.
