Depending on the usage ratios and boiler technology deployed, a mix of Coldry in an existing Lignite power plant can reduce CO2 emissions by at least 5%, whilst using 100% Coldry in a high efficiency boiler can reduce emissions by 40% or more. Coldry removes the tendency of Lignite and Sub-bituminous coals to spontaneously combust and so opens the possibility that these resources can be transported for use in remote power generation facilities. In doing so, Coldry is able to provide energy security for growing economies whilst providing export income to lignite rich regions.
