I think your faith in my knowledge of Nifty is greater then it is. It's future as a going concern would have to depend on the copper price. That's what gets what Adam Smith terms 'the animal spirits' of capitalism to have a go at running it.
That being the case it would take someone with a lot of foresight to buy it, especially with it's history. However, there are people with foresight and my best guess is it is sold for $1 with some commitments for MLX to pay for part of the regulatory costs. i.e at present it's a liability (not as the strict accounting term).
