Going back over the lead up to Nifty going into C & M and the letters from Marantelli warning against letting APAC have eyes on what was happening absolutely stinks. I don't think the board was dodgy - just completely incompetent APAC were making the right call on this and those letters sent out to shareholders signed by Marantelli tainted shareholder views.
It seems the board then kept driving the ship ever closer to the rocks betting on luck until they had to save their own skins by jumping ship and allowing APAC's director on board which shareholders were told was such a bad idea..
